For Congress Rape is Iconic Act

It is the same Congress that admires its rape icon Abhishek Manu Singhavi, how can you think that it will make strict laws against rape. After stepping down due to his iconic act (for Congress) Singhavi is again taken back by Congress with pride and gratitude. With this, it seems that Congress supports and promotes rapes.

Keep your voice raised..

A demand for rule of law, justice should be for everyone..

Over the past few days, the most sensitive issue has been gang-rape of Vasant Vihar Delhi. People are protesting for these kinds of thing and insensitive behavior of government. Do we wait for these incidents to be happened? Why do not government take strong and bold steps by making strict laws? Our country is still being run by British rules which have been made more than 70 years before.

If death sentence can be given to a terrorist, why can it not be given to a rapist at least when it is rare as in the case of Vasant Vihar. Since, our women, female colleagues, sisters and daughters are feeling terrified, this can be called as terrorist activity. They are feeling unsafe in going out. Who is responsible for this? Of course these kinds of ill-minded animals (I say animals because they do not deserve to be called as human). Then, why can they not be called as terrorist? They are disturbing our social structure and its value. They should not be allowed to be a part of a civilized society. I think, this incident should be exploited to set a reference by giving death sentence to these animals considering it as a terrorist activity. If there is any legal problem then this should be resolved by our politicians in parliament or any other forum with full honesty. Laws are for us, we are not for laws; therefore, strict laws are necessary to provide security to our women so that they can go anywhere and do their work without fearing anyone.

When an incident like this happens, we agitate but what after that? Do we follow this afterwards? No. There should not be over reaction. This is not the only case of this type. If you go little farther from metro cities where media coverage and other awareness do not exist, it's very common. So, there is not only a need of strict laws but also its implementation. Just making laws will not work anymore. What happened in case of Ruchika, Geetika Sharma, Assam's incident.. and list go on? It seems investigating agencies do not work for victim but for accused. Police reforms are very important.

Let us ask to our politicians to whom we vote. Today we are agitating, do we show this much of energy and thinking when we go for vote? Answer is 'No'. Almost every party has MPs or MLAs who are pending with rape charges. Do we ask why these parties give tickets to such candidates? Agitation should not be on a particular time or issue, but it should be in broad way. When we will start questioning to these parties, they will automatically stop doing this. They think us like fool, which is exemplified by the statement of Sushil Shinde who said "Janta sab bhool jati hai". This is politicians' thinking about us. Why do they raise issues like caste, reservations, religion etc. because they think this is emotional issue by which they can harvest crop of votes. But, when we will start reacting on these kinds of of issues, they will start talking on relevant  issues which will help us.

Let us pray for the victim admitted in Safdarjang Hospital for her speedy recovery and justice.

Indian Politics Without Public Interest

Now a days the most debated political issue is foreign direct investment (FDI), despite Gujarat assembly election. Few days back "India Bandh" was called, which was supported by many political parties be it NDA, Left, some neutral parties (i.e. BJD, AIIDMK, TMC) and even parties supporting UPA like SP and BSP. Since Yesterday this issue was under discussion in Loksabha where 14 parties including SP and BSP were opposing FDA. Mulayam Singh has said a very true sentence that if Gandhi and Lohia would be here no one could dare to bring FDI, but he should be questioned that why did he give another life line to UPA by a pre-decided stand i.e. walkover from the parliament. This is just a indirect support to UPA government. Mulayam Singh and Mayawati are exposed before the public. There are a wide gap between their statement and execution. They are fooling their supporter. I think, volunteers of SP and BSP should think about this. I don't know why are they being supported. I urge to my countrymen that please cast your vote on the basis of issues not on personal interests, sentiments or caste based.

What a foolish defend on walking over from parliament!! Mulayam Singh said that he did this to support farmers and small traders. How come? He could do it better by participating in voting on FDI. Being headless, he justifies his neckless look. Mayawati said that she can't support a communal party. Where does this communalism come here? On every issue she uses to hide herself behind communalism, but the actual thing is CBI fear that guide her. If she needs support on SC/ST reservation, she talks to BJP to support then there is no communalism. But if she likes to support UPA then she uses the word communal. What a mindless politician we have!

Don't be fool, open your mind and stand for your nation and its welfare. Let us give a better nation to the coming generation.

Telomere Length in Blood Chromosomes Serve As Health Indicators

Studies reveal shorter telomere length in the blood cell is associated with pancreatic cancer.

Telomeres are the capping blocks to chromosomes; the tip of the iceberg shielding the underlying foundation so to speak. Chromosomes, the fountain of genetic material beneath the telomeres, contain important instructions for the cell to divide in order – and avoid cancerous outbreaks.

Telomere location on chromosome
As a cell divides its telomeres naturally grow shorter in length. Telomeres provide stability and strength of gene cohesiveness. Individuals are more prone to genetic mutations and disease as their telomeres degrade with age.

Many factors influence the length and health of telomeres. Such factors include stressful lives, chronic inflammation, poor glucose control, and cigarette smoke. Poor habits such as those set the ground for genetic damage.

Telomere length is currently finding uses as an health indicator pointing to problems besides pancreatic cancer. In fact, shortened telomeres in blood have been found in populations suffering from colon cancer.

Dr. Lisa A. Boardman, of Mayo Clinic, and other researchers hope to create a telomere marker test to be used for clinical diagnosis. Their research is currently being published in Cancer Epidemiology, Biomarkers and Prevention, a journal of the American Association for Cancer Research.

Abhishek Manu Singhavi is Back, Save Your Girls

Abhishek Manu Singhavi is back as Congress spoke person. Now, he will be discussing his experiences to the media and public. Before this, it was his personal matter but now Congress has adapted his deeds and ideology. This was only a left idea for Congress, now Congress has been completed with Singhavi's sex idea accompanying other corruptions like monetary, looting money of handicapped, and list continues.

On what basis Singhavi returned to Congress? Sonia Gandhi should answer this. Backing Singhavi, what does she want to convey? A party of Nehru, Shastri and Indira will now promote people like Singhavi? Congress has become shameless. But, we should feel shame on us too. It's we, who support these kind of people. Please set your role in maintaining our nation's character.

Arvind Kejriwal of India Against Corruption sets to expose another big head

Arvind Kejriwal is almost set to expose another corruption, which will definitely be proof-based as his records in previous cases. Now the question is who will be that lucky politician (because after that he/she will be eligible for ministerial posts.). India's eyes will be on Arvind and India Against Corruption today. Eagerly waiting for his press conference.

Nitin Gadkari, another Bangaru Laxman of BJP

Bangaru Laxman, former BJP President is currently in darkness. It seems that Nitin Gadkari is another Bangaru Laxman. He was an unknown face (except in Maharashtra) before being the President of BJP. As fast he came to publicity as BJP President, he seems to go back in same speed. This shows that anyone who lives public life should have a clear and transparent background. Their character should be a reference for others, specially the followers. One could earn money but not character.

Shameless Politicians....

I am badly disappointed with Indian politicians. They do not have moral value left even in fraction in them, I am surprised how do they face the public and simultaneously how do public (we the Indian) trust them. It's we, who do not react. We have to ask question to them, make them answerable to the public. They can not do whatever they want to do, they can not be escaped. We all are bound with same law, but why politicians are not being investigated as in case with common people. If government is not doing investigations, it does not have moral to rule the nation.

Dear Indian Citizen, it is the time to show your value and your power to these political terrorist.

"Jab tak aap uthoge nahi ye aise hi humein besharmi se lootate rahenge."

Please, awake for our country....

Adieu to Yash Chopra Ji

Legendary filmmaker, Yash Chopra, also known as the ‘king of romance’, who succumbed to dengue and multiple organ failure on Sunday evening, has been cremated.

He was the iconic personality of Indian Cinema. Chopra began his career as an assistant director to I.S. Johar and his elder brother, B.R. Chopra. He made his directorial debut with Dhool Ka Phool in 1959, a melodrama about illegitimacy and followed it with the hard-hitting social drama Dharmputra (1961). Encouraged by the success of both films, the Chopra brothers made several more movies together during the late fifties and sixties. Chopra then rose to prominence after the commercially and critically successful drama, Waqt (1965), which pioneered the concept of multi-starters in Bollywood.

He can not be replaced in any way by anyone. His place can not be filled. I will always miss him, and he will be alive through his cinemas. God rest your soul in peace...

Jan Lokpal and Corruption Free India : Agitation to be launched in January 2013 From Gandhi Maidan, Patna (Bihar) in January 2013

The preparations to launch a nation-wide movement for Jan Lokpal and Corruption Free India are at finishing stage, organizing the karykartas all over India is an important task at this juncture which is being achieved using latest information technology tools. Preparations are going ahead at a great pace and with enthusiasm.

For more please read Anna ji's blog.

Politicians has made politics a rotten egg

Every day we came to know a new scam. Corruptions confronting the country. Public has no choice except watching idle all these issues. Now, situation has become worse like rotten egg. Corrupt politicians has made politics a rotten egg and its bad smell made the politics untouchable. Youth are losing their interest in politics, which is not a good sign for our democracy.

Indian politics needs a systemic surgery, but it is very difficult in current situations. Every party has some honest politicians, they should come in front and play the significant role for a better democracy. Judicial reforms are very important and much needed. It takes a long time for a judgment, which becomes insignificant by the time. Therefore, no one worries about court and punishment. Criminals or corrupt politicians hide themselves behind the slow judicial system. A trial should not take more than 9-10 months, it should be made fast. Next, an independent investigation agency is inevitable, which should not be in influence of government; then only judicial system can work fast and it will help in true judgment.

How does this system work, it can be understood just by the case of Mr. Ashok Khemka (IAS of Hariyana cadre), who cancelled Robert Vadra and DLF deals. If this deal was under suspicion, why this should not be cancelled? Despite an investigation of this deal, Mr. Khemka's decision is being brought in scanner. There must be an investigation of both sides. Why should only Khemka's decision be investigated? Besides his decision, the deal should also be investigated. Being son-in-law of Sonia Gandhi, Robert Vadra doesn't have license to loot public money. If he is guilty, he should be in jail.

Salman Khurshid is questioned by Deepak Sharma as Amarish Puri by Anil Kapoor in Nayak

I was watching press conference of Salman Khurshid, Union Law Minister today. It reminded me a glimpse of "Nayak, a Hindi movie" when Amarish Puri was being questioned by Anil Kapoor, and the reaction of Amarish Puri and his political sycophants.

Deepak Sharma
Here, Deepak Sharma of "AajTak" was in the role of Anil Kapoor and Salman Khurshid as Amarish Puri. Today, a lawyer defended himself with poor and tailored facts. He doesn't hesitate even in using of a poor person to hide his sins. He was on back foot, and used unconstitutional words to media personnel and threatened them. Unlikely in case of Robert Vadra where cabinet ministers were competing each other to defend their DAMAD Ji, there were no UPA minister to support Mr. Salman Khurshid.

I salute today's hero Deepak Sharma, and hoping that media will continue with their role as crusaders.

Robert Vadra, a legal terrorist?

Robert Vadra is allegedly involved in another land scam. Now it is land that had been allotted to "Dalits", and it could be sold only to a Dalit only, but Robert Vadra bought it. Is he a Dalit? A clear indication of forcefully acquired  land. Sonia and her family is acting like legal terrorist.

Sonia Gandhi
Robert Vadra
Salman Khurshhed

Salman Khursheed has digested crores of rupees in the name of trust that serves for physically handicapped people.

Same Congress that came in power with "Congress ka hath aam aadmi k sath", but this is the real face of Congress, whose hand is in pocket of Dalits and handicapped people.

Shame on us, if Congress was being successful in getting this much of vote in Uttarakhand polls (though people rejected in overall).

Skewed immunological balance between Th17 (CD4(+)IL17A (+)) and Treg (CD4 (+)CD25 (+)FOXP3 (+)) cells in human oral squamous cell carcinoma.

I'm very happy to share my publication on Th17 and Treg cells (PMID: 22956260).

Title

Abstract

BACKGROUND:

Several studies have documented modulation of Th17 and T regulatory (Treg) cells in various human malignancies which may vary with the type and extent of the disease. However, such data in patients with oral cancer is scarce and hence the current study was designed to elaborate the immunological balance between these two T cell subsets in oral cancer.

METHODS AND RESULTS:

We analyzed various T cell subsets in the peripheral blood of 45 oral squamous cell carcinoma (OSCC) patients and 40 healthy volunteers. We found that, compared with the healthy controls, patients had a significantly (p < 0.0001) higher proportion of both Th17 (CD4(+)IL17A(+)) and Treg (CD4(+)CD25(+)FOXP3(+)) cells, which further showed a reciprocal balance in relation to clinico-pathological parameters in patients. We also detected a circulating CD8(+) subset of these cells in both patients and healthy controls, although the difference between the two groups was statistically insignificant. Higher frequencies of Th17 cells were found in patients with early stages and without lymph node involvement, while an increased prevalence of Tregs was associated with higher clinical stages and lymph node involvement. Moreover, Th17 cells were quantitatively and positively correlated to CD4(+)T and CD8(+)T cells and inversely correlated with Tregs. Contrarily, Tregs showed a negative association with CD4(+)T and CD8(+)T cells.

CONCLUSIONS:

Our results suggest an increase in Th17/Tregs ratio in early stages and a decrease in this ratio in higher stages of oral cancer. Such counter regulation of Th17 and Tregs may be a significant prognostic factor in oral cancer patients.

Work Culture of Congress Party: Good or Bad?

If we study few recent activity of Congress party, we will find how our politicians or ministers do their duties.
  1. Last year, Manish Tiwari, Congress's spoke person, came to media with a paper that Anna is involved in corruption, and used unconstitutional and irrespective words for Anna ji. Later on, it was found fake. After that Manish Tiwari went in hibernation for few months. But, before coming to media Congress should have worked out for the originality of the report. Anna ji has been awarded the Padma Bhushan—the third-highest civilian award, thus this kind of politically motivated allegations should have been avoided.
  2. Abhishek Manu Singhavi, who was the chairman of Standing Committee for Jan Lokpal bill. Now, nobody knows where is he. He has been exposed in front of camera showing his involvement in sexual activities. But, before this he used to roar like a lion in teaching ethical values to Anna and his team. This is another face of our politicians.
  3. Recently, Aaj Tak, a leading Hindi news channel, showed a report of trust associated with Union Law Minister Salman Khursheed. This trust works (so called) for welfare of disabled people. But, in the report it has been showed how fake names and addresses have been used in its list of benefited people to get funds from government. Government knew this, but even then released fund just because of Salman Khurseed is a congress leader. Salman Khurseed also talks about moral and ethics. Which moral or ethics? You decide it :). He crosses the limit of sycophancy stating that he can give his life for Sonia Gandhi in a matter related to Robert Vadra. Be aware of such kind of dog who can bite to anyone for its feeder.
After reading it, please do not react on the words I have used. Ask questions to your soul.

Who is Responsible for Corruption, Public or Politicians?

During its "Anshan", Anna team used to say that every politicians are corrupt, then it was badly criticized by politicians without setting any moral for reference. If an independent agency investigates against politicians, I believe 90% will be found as corrupt, criminal, or any other activities which are against the law. But, they still have courage to face the public and defend themselves with full confident as they did not do anything. They always try to prove that politicians of other party are in illegal activities, they are not (just only a defamatory act). Actually, the situations are applicable to politicians of every party. In India, there is no true democracy, it is a slave of few political families, and local leaders or party workers are just sycophants of their leaders. Party visions exist only on paper, not at ground level or in leaders' mind.

I am very disappointed by seeing the conditions of our country. And, mostly with the inactivation of people of India, they have become habitual with these conditions. Their inactivity has become the strength of politicians. Politicians value the public as their assets named "vote bank" in the name of caste, religion, regionalism, etc., and they believe that in any conditions public will be with them, they believe because public also reciprocate this. For example, when Raja went to his constituency after bail, he was welcomed by coins equal to his weight. Why was he welcomed like this? Should public do this? These kind of activities are power of politicians like Raja.

Today, Vinod Singh, a minister of UP government, has to resign because he kidnapped and threatened to a CMO, but after this his supporter reached to CMO office and created nuisance. The denial of matters, brought to the CMO, were against the public welfare, in other words CMO's decision is for public, but even then public is supporting minister's act. It is very necessary to educate people and make them aware about their rights and duties for the nation. It is public who decide the fate of our country, public acts should be against these kinds of politicians. If public understand their duties, I must say, there is no need of any Jan Lokpal, or any other such laws.

Please stand for our country. Do not support corrupt politicians, it is our duty to show their face. India is our country, we have to shape it, and we have to save it.

Varun Gandhi should lead Uttar Pradesh BJP

Tags: Varun Gandhi, Samajwadi Party, BSP, BJP, Akhilesh Yadav, Narendra Modi, Mayawati, Congress

After Coal, 2G and 3G, Now It's Time of Congress' JijaG

Now there is another scam before the country, at the moment it is Congress' JijaG's scam. Arvind Kejriwal and Prashant Bhushan, India Against Corruption activists who turned politicians recently, have exposed Congress president Sonia Gandhi's son-in-law Robert Vadra. They accused Vadra of increasing his wealth from Rs. 50 lakh to Rs. 300 crore in three years by receiving an "unsecured, interest-free loan of Rs. 65 crore" from real estate giant DLF to buy properties at very cheap prices from the same company.

Instead of going for proper investigation, Congress leaders and Union ministers quickly came out in support of Vadra, threatening legal action against the IAC. If Robert Vadra has not done anything wrong, he should go for investigation, and if he gets clean chit, then he should file defamation charge against Arvind Kejriwal. Even so, it is not going to be happened. Union Ministers have started threatening Arvind and his team. It seems everything is not alright. Let us see whether rule of law works or politicians rule over law.

Significance of Arvind Kejriwal's party

Much more is being told about party of Arvind Kejriwal and Manish Sisodia, which is going to be launched officially on 26th November. But, today the vision draft of their party has been issued for the public to discuss with anticipation of their suggestions. As I know, no other party would have been asked this much of question when it was launched. This is good for Arvind and his team because now onward his party will be tested with set parameters which will help improve the party agenda.

Maybe in the coming years Arvind and Manish would be seen as new Atal Bihari Vajpayee and Lalkrishna Advani for their party. BJP is not a party of single day, month or year. It took years to bring in the present form. Nothing is too easy, but one has to take challenge and prove his/her thought among public. If it will suit to public, definitely will be appreciated.

It is inevitable that a true and bold step at the time of its execution will be criticized and will be seen with doubt. But, if we go back in history and analyze few such steps we will find a reference for our right deeds to execute. Whenever we talk about electoral reforms in India, one would definitely take name of T. N. Sheshan. The same laws were also present before him, but it was only T. N. Sheshan who show the power of Election Commission. It is only a single example, many more can be discussed. The question is if we have potent law, but still why they are meaningless? Because our politicians do not have will power to apply this.

Team Arvind appears to be potent to fill this gap. They should be welcomed and supported. My best wishes with this team with hope that it will stand alone from this crowed.

India’s silent scientists

As the world celebrates the Higgs part of the God particle, the Bose part of the boson lies largely forgotten. S N Bose is not the only Indian to fade into obscurity. Sunday Times looks at three others, who made outstanding contributions to science, but never got their due.

Lalji Singh

Last week’s discovery of a particle which could most likely be Higgs boson may not change the way you play golf, but it may let you understand better the creation of the universe, its minuscule components and its all-pervading vastness. And, if you have an abiding interest in the interface of science and everyday life, it may as well tell you why you missed the 18th hole.

So, it wasn’t surprising that some 8,000 scientists and students from 60 countries were peering at a maze of mathematical projections at the European Centre for Nuclear Research (Cern) near Geneva to catch a glimpse of what they hate to call the God particle. As millions of protons travelled almost at the speed of light through a 27 km circular tunnel 100 metres below the Franco-Swiss border last week, the world held its breath. But, the scientists wouldn’t say if they have found it. Finally, on June 3, there was a give away: Peter Higgs, the English theoretical physicist who predicted the existence such a particle in the early 1960s was invited to a conference near Geneva, where the announcement was to be made the next day.

Satyendra Bose

We know the Higgs part of the elusive particle, but the Bose part of it remains in relative obscurity. Boson, one of the two fundamental subatomic components of particle physics — the other being fermion — was named after Indian physicist Satyendra Nath Bose (1894-1974). Bose, who worked with Albert Einstein to come up with the Bose-Einstein statistics and the Bose-Einstein condensate theory, was never nominated for the Nobel. In fact, it was out of Einstein’s personal interest in Bose’s work that saw much of his work being noted, after Bose sent his papers to Einstein who translated them into German and got them published in scientific journals.

Thanks to a few media reports on Bose in the wake of the Higgs boson discovery, the great man is being introduced to a vast number of Indians 38 years after his death. But, there are several Indian scientists, great in their own ways, who remain unknown to the layman and ignored by the scientific fraternity and the governments.

E Premkumar Reddy

Ask any scientist who acknowledges original research to give a list of Indians who should have got a Nobel Prize, and you will find the name G N Ramachandran (1922- 2001) there. Though trained as a physicist, Ramachandran’s greatest contributions were to biology, where he formulated the ‘Ramachandran plots’ which every biophysicist uses while studying proteins. His triplehelix structure of collagen is a classic discovery worth a Nobel. ‘History of Science, Philosophy and Culture in Indian Civilization’ says Ramachandran’s lesser known contribution was to three-dimensional image reconstruction, which redefined the way we look inside the human body without cutting it open. Some, like P M Bhargava, founder director of the Centre for Cellular and Molecular Biology, believe Ramachandran should be considered the father of NMR and CT scan, though some others took credit for it. “Ramachandran was elected as a Fellow of the Royal Society after some of us worked hard for it. He never asked for it,” says Bhargava. “He was neither elected as a foreign member of the National Academy of Sciences of the US, nor nominated for a Nobel Prize which he richly deserved.”

Ramachandran died in 2001 without much international recognition; several other silently continue to do path-breaking research, refusing to blow their own trumpets. E Premkumar Reddy, for one. Now the director of
experimental cancer therapeutics at Mount Sinai School of Medicine, New York, Reddy has made seminal discoveries of oncogenes that gave a clear understanding of the molecular basis of cancer. Though he has lived and worked for more than 40 years in the US, he was never elected to the National Academy of Sciences, the hall of scientific fame in the US. Recognition may come to him as a cancer drug that took shape from his research goes into phase III trials.

Reddy, like several other silent toilers of science, says he has no regrets, though he believes that some scientists get ahead through PR. “Becoming a member of National Academy not only requires a major
contribution to science, but also a certain amount of lobbying. I did not care to spend my time lobbying since I felt I could use my time and energy for a better cause,” he says.

Lobbyism prevails because there is a lack of objective assessment of scientific work in India, feels Lalji Singh, who developed a new technique of DNA fingerprinting which has applications in forensics, parent determination and even resurrection of extinct species. Singh, 65, who served as the director of CCMB, Hyderabad, is now the vice-chancellor of Banaras Hindu University. One of Singh’s works became the only research from an Indian lab to make it to the cover of ‘Nature’ magazine in October 2010. Singh was never nominated for the Fellowship of Royal Society. Bhargava feels the Padma Shri that Singh got was far too little for his genius.

So, what is wrong with the system? “The problem is,” says Singh, “that the system doesn’t work.” C N R Rao, head of the scientific advisory council to the Prime Minister, feels it is better sometimes that the government does nothing. “Just keep quiet and let scientists do their work, that’s enough,” says Rao, who feels the government has no clear-cut policy to promote science and scientists in India.

How Indian Team Narrowly missed Nobel Prize in Medicine?

An Indian researcher at the Centre for Cellular and Molecular Biology (CCMB) in Hyderabad believes that he and members of his former group “narrowly missed” this year’s Nobel Prize for medicine.

The Prize, announced on Monday at Stockholm, s shared by Americans Andrew Fire and Craig Mello for their discovery of silencing genes by a method known as “RNA inference” or RNAi. The technique has opened new paths to treating and even preventing a disease by switching off the gene responsible for it by introducing small strands of custommade RNA molecules.

Utpal Bhadra, a CCMB scientist, said his group – which included his wife Monika and James Birchler at the University of Missouri in the US – was one of the first to work on gene silencing but narrowly missed the Nobel race.

Bhadra said that while working at the University of Missouri his group showed how to silence genes in fruit flies for the first time. He joined the CCMB in 2001.

“We made the discovery by accident,” Bhadra said in a telephonic interview, adding that the finding laid one of the foundations for RNAi. They published their findings in 1997 in cell, a prestigious journal. Fire and Mello, selected for this year’s Nobel Prize, demonstrated gene silencing in nematode worms called ‘C.elegans’. They pushed their findings in 1998, a year after the publication by Bhadra’s team. “I think Bhadra’s team missed it narrowly,” CCMB director Lalji Singh said. Fire has himself acknowledged the Bhadra group’s contribution in a message that says: “While we got the Nobel Prize, there are a lot of giant discoveries and you are part of that.”

Bhadra said his group was initially in the panel under consideration by the Nobel committee but was eventually dropped “as there were too many players”. While claiming it was delighted that this year’s Nobel gave recognition to the field of research he and his wife – both Well-come Trust Fellows – are working on. While he is working on how to use the gene silencing technique to prevent AIDS and Japanese encephalitis, his wife Monika at the Indian Institute of Chemical Technology, also in Hyderabad, is focussing on using this method to prevent cancer. Bhadra’s group has used this technique, with funding from the Silk Board, to create transgenic silkworms resistant to viral diseases. Lalji Singh said that Bhadra’s work on HIV and other viral diseases would speed up once his institute completes construction of the special containment facility for handling infectious organisms in the next two months.

Another scam, now it is irrigation in Maharashtra

Now a days wherever you put your hand, you will pick a scam. In the current scenario one should not be surprised with this. More importantly, our politicians (though not all) opposing this just only by political compulsions, otherwise behind the camera they all do this with their mutual understanding. Arvind Kejriwal is right (though I am agree with some of his thought, but I do not support him) with his comment that "who will investigate?".

Media reports say that thousands of crore have been looted in Maharashtra. Who is accountable, who should be responsible for this? Definitely, the government and its allies.

Yesterday I was watching debate on NDTV. In this program, I came to know that a dam project was allotted to a close friend of Ajit Powar (then Irrigation Minister), originally this project was around Rs.50 lacks, but after 1 month it has been upgraded to Rs.300 lacks by giving the reason behind this that the cost of raw materials has been increased (RTI report). Just imagine within a month this much of increment in cost. It is not necessary for you to be an economic expert to understand this game. There are many questions that come in mind of each one and these should be asked by them to their representative. Where did this money go, for whom this increment was done? Of course in the name of dam project, money has been siphoned to Ajit Powar's pocket.

People should understand this and should ask questions. If still you are not getting your answers, you have a power to show mirror to these politicians i.e. power of vote.

Strongly condemn assassinations of Sarpanches in Jammu and Kashmir

Assassinations of democratically elected Sarpanches in Jammu and Kashmir are very disappointing. Some separatists with the help of Pakistan-based militant organizations have been found to be involved in this matter. I urge people of Kashmir that they should realize the reality and expose these opportunistic anti-national elements. These people do not want to see peace and development in Kashmir because in this case their existence will be in danger, which is not acceptable to them in any situation. They do not care about the Kashmiris but their boss sitting in Pakistan from whom they are getting financial support. My dear brother you are the part of India, its your country. Please unite against these anti-national elements and raise your voice. This is the only way by which they can be weakened and also the only way to bring peace back in our Jannat on earth i.e. Kashmir.

57th Foundation Day of All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS)

It's 57th foundation day of All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), New Delhi. On this occasion AIIMS has organized an exhibition for its contribution to health care and public awareness. AIIMS President, Union Health Minister, Dr. Ghulam Nabi Azad, was present on this occasion and announced that other AIIMS will be functioning very soon and 17 other medical colleges will be upgraded to AIIMS-like.

After that almost each department exhibited its contribution in form of research, clinical developments etc. Since my lab is working on cancer, therefore, my lab displayed that cycloxgenage-2 (COX-2) could be a prognostic marker for oral cancer.

In our lab, COX-2 has been found to be overexpressed in oral cancer patients' serum and tissue, and its peptide inhibitors showed significant cytotoxicity in oral cancer line KB.

In the evening, Noble Laureate Dr. Robert Huber delivered his lecture on protein structures. It was highly motivational and encouraging lecture.

After that, from this year onward AIIMS has started a new award for its researchers for their contribution in to promote scientific research. Institute will honor them with prizes as one 1st prize, two 2nd prizes and five 3rd prizes.

It was all a good move. We should welcome it.

Bharat Band, a political drama?

Today, besides opposition parties such as NDA, Samajwadi Party and DMK called Bharat Band. More or less it was successful by the eyes of these parties. Now, question should be what is the significance of this Band? Why is this double game by Samajwadi Party and DMK? These parties are continued with support to UPA government and at the same time protesting on road, just show their vote bank that they are with public. But, this is totally an act of making fun of public and their emotions.

Samajwadi Party is giving logic behind supporting UPA government that it does not let communal forces to come in power. A big question is that who is communal and what is communalism? In view of Samajwadi Party BJP is communal, but when Mulayam Singh invites Kalyan Singh (he was the main leader for which BJP is called communal) to join his party or give support to his party, then he does not see communalism. It is clear that political parties define this term time to time as they need.

At present, is there any fear of communalism? People of India dying due to inflation, the project money is being looted that is allotted for people's welfare, but still Samajwadi Party is supporting UPA government in name of communalism, this should only be called as opportunistic politics.

How shameless our politicians are?

"One can not conceal the result of the mistakes which has been made ever."

Glimpse of Kanniyakumari

I am feeling very happy to share some glimpse of Kanniyakumari, Tamilnadu.

Why is this political drama?

UPA government is pretending that it is taking some bold and tough decision in favor of national interest over the party interest. Why did this government not take this decision before this crisis? Was it waiting for this situation? It is itself indicating failure of the government and its lack of decision.

Political drama has been started by all political parties just to attract the attention of people, and trying to prove that they are real caretaker. But, actually they have nothing for them. They are seeking their political establishment, and suitable time to act. Samajwadi Party chief Mulayam Singh Yadav seems more active these days because he feels that it is perfect time to gain maximum in parliamentary election. If he really feels that policies of UPA government is against the common man, what for is he waiting? When UPA government completed its three years, it was Mulayam Singh who gave full marks by holding UPA government's report card. It is just his political stunts. He is cashing the mandate of public in form of relief from CBI investigation and bargaining to get maximum fund from center to be looted. Same is true for Mayawati.

I think public should be more aware with these things. They should vote for national interest instead of based on caste or anything else which is personal.

Jai Hind

Where is true democracy ?

The current situation of our country is facing political crisis, and the main reason behind this is behavior of our politicians. They do not feel their responsibility towards common man, they are not accountable to the people by whom they have been elected. I doubt that we are living in a country where true democracy prevails because rules are applicable in discriminative way. I am not doubting over our constitution, it gives equal right to every citizen of the country, but its implementation and use is not being done properly. For the same reason, it is applicable to common man but not to powerful personality specially politicians, for example, Aseem has been booked with charge of sedition for using our national symbol for his interest, but politicians have not been even touched for the same symbol that is used at a banner in Tamilnadu. Is this true democracy? Whoever raises his/her voice against corruption or any issues that are against government or political class,  he/she is being targeted by the government by hook or by crook.
Government can ask details of donors who gave donations to India Against Corruption (IAC) or Ramdev's movement but not to Congress, BJP and many political parties which do not give details that they get from their donors. IAC and Ramdev have to give their funding details, but similarly Congress and other parties have to give details of their funding source. Why is this double criteria? Rules should be equally applied to everyone. I am not demanding that political parties should give details of their funding source but they have to give otherwise it is a crime.
Political class is united for any kind of corruption, they just create drama before the people (their vote bank). Lakh crores rupee have been looted by them, but they say CAG has given wrong report. Our foreign reserve has been declined by them and inflation is imposed on pocket of common man to cover it. Why should common man be responsible for corruption made by politicians? Why should common man suffer? When a politician contest the first time for parliamentary election he has thousand or lakh sometimes in his pocket, but after winning when he comes for next election his asset reaches to crores, how is it? No one asks for this? From where did he make his asset? He should be made accountable.
I appeal to our people please do not vote for your personal gain, but vote for your country, for the future of your forthcoming generation.  We should handover a good country to them where they have freedom to work without any hurdle, they have guarantee of employment and more importantly they have corruption free society and country.
Jai Hind.

Impotent Indian Politics

Shameful day for Indian politics

Today, after 9 days "Anshan" of Arvind Kejriwal, Manish Sisodiya and Gopal Rai, Anna Hazare declared to take back his Anshan who is himself on fast for 5 days. People of India would not be happy for his decision, not due to his movement towards politics, but due to insensitive behavior of politicians particularly the government. It shows impotency of our politicians and their work culture. They unite for their salary increment, FDI bill, nuclear deal etc. But, if people of India demand for Janlokpal, it is being circulated from table to table, committee to committee because they do not want this bill.
Anna ji had no choice except politics. Now, people will have choice, and they should show courage and should support for JanLokpal.

Direct Dilogue by Anna Ji

Anna Charcha Samooh

Jai Hind,

In last one week Arvind Kejriwal has talked about Anna Charcha Samooh
multiple times. IAC is providing a pamphlet link that explains the concept in detail. You can also call 9212123212 and come to know more about the discussion forums.

The movement is taking a new shape and we appeal to you to either
become a part of a discussion forum or start a discussion forum among your friends, family or neighbours. Anna charcha samooh is a not just a way to remain connected with the movement, it is a way to participate as well.

In English:

Two way direct communication between Jan Lokpal movement and the people of India

The anti‐corruption movement has been going on for the last one year under the leadership of Shri Anna Hazare. Our demand is a strong Jan Lokpal Bill (JLB). The Government repeatedly promised to bring a strong Bill. We were also hopeful that the Government would present a strong anti‐corruption bill – if not 100%, we were hopeful that the government would accept at least the bulk of our critical JLB provisions. Unfortunately, the Bill proposed by the Government is so dangerous because it kills even the existing anti‐corruption system, let alone accepting the provisions in our JLB.

Friends! Now, it is clear that we have a long battle ahead because the government does not seem to be in any mood to pass a strong Bill. The struggle has also transcended from that of a simple Jan Lokpal Bill to very basis of our democracy. Is India really a democracy? Do people really have a say? The entire country wanted a strong Lokpal Bill. But the Parliamentarians were completely against it. All parties appeared to be against it. Ultimately, it was the will of the Parliamentarians and not that of the people, which has prevailed. Is this democracy?

The mainstream and social media has played a very critical role in this movement and we are very grateful to them for their support. Until now, the movement was completely dependent upon them to carry its messages to the people. They have been a great asset to this movement. However, they have their limitations. Firstly, the mainstream media does not carry the message in its entirety. Often, truncated “bytes” are shown. Sometimes, this creates confusion rather than promote the real facts. Secondly, people were unable to get answers to their questions as they did not have any direct communication with ‘India Against Corruption’ (IAC). Thirdly, people were not able to send their suggestions/ideas directly to IAC.

So, while we prepare ourselves for the long battle ahead, we want to open up new direct communication mechanisms with the people of India and not be entirely dependent on the mainstream media for communication. We plan to set up a two way direct communication process with the people. The goal is to form ‘Discussion Groups’ in every municipal ward in cities and in every village. These ‘Discussion Groups’ could work in the following manner:
1. Any volunteer could start a discussion group in his/her residential area or workplace or any other place with his/her colleagues, friends, neighbours etc.
2. Every Friday morning, a pamphlet will be uploaded on our website.
3. The volunteer should download that pamphlet and read it carefully. If he has any questions, he could clarify by calling on the helpline 09718 500 606.
4. An invitation letter for that pamphlet would also be uploaded on the site. The volunteer may download that invitation letter, make copies thereof and distribute amongst people to invite them to join his discussion group.
5. Discussion group could meet every Sunday at 11 am or any other day or time convenient to all members of the discussion group.
6. The volunteer should discuss the issues contained in the pamphlet in the discussion group.
7. The volunteer may try to answer the queries raised during the Discussion. He or she can write down those questions which he could not answer and email these questions to indiaagainstcorruption.2010@gmail.com or call our helpline and inform them.
8. The volunteer would be provided with the answers to these questions soon.
9. Our goal is to build a team of dedicated volunteers in every ward in cities and every village who will not only run independent ‘Discussion Groups’ but will also encourage other local residents to form and run such ‘Discussion Groups’.

We hope that, through these pamphlets and discussion groups, we will be able to carry the movement’s message directly to the people and start a two way communication with them. The people will not only be able to ask their questions through this system, but would also be able to send their suggestions and feedback. This will make it truly a people’s movement run by the people themselves.

When large number of discussion groups start across the country, we can discuss several fundamental questions about our democracy and try to evolve a consensus on possible solutions.

These discussion groups could eventually serve as a platform to prepare the nation for a complete transformation.
