A demand for rule of law, justice should be for everyone..

Over the past few days, the most sensitive issue has been gang-rape of Vasant Vihar Delhi. People are protesting for these kinds of thing and insensitive behavior of government. Do we wait for these incidents to be happened? Why do not government take strong and bold steps by making strict laws? Our country is still being run by British rules which have been made more than 70 years before.

If death sentence can be given to a terrorist, why can it not be given to a rapist at least when it is rare as in the case of Vasant Vihar. Since, our women, female colleagues, sisters and daughters are feeling terrified, this can be called as terrorist activity. They are feeling unsafe in going out. Who is responsible for this? Of course these kinds of ill-minded animals (I say animals because they do not deserve to be called as human). Then, why can they not be called as terrorist? They are disturbing our social structure and its value. They should not be allowed to be a part of a civilized society. I think, this incident should be exploited to set a reference by giving death sentence to these animals considering it as a terrorist activity. If there is any legal problem then this should be resolved by our politicians in parliament or any other forum with full honesty. Laws are for us, we are not for laws; therefore, strict laws are necessary to provide security to our women so that they can go anywhere and do their work without fearing anyone.

When an incident like this happens, we agitate but what after that? Do we follow this afterwards? No. There should not be over reaction. This is not the only case of this type. If you go little farther from metro cities where media coverage and other awareness do not exist, it's very common. So, there is not only a need of strict laws but also its implementation. Just making laws will not work anymore. What happened in case of Ruchika, Geetika Sharma, Assam's incident.. and list go on? It seems investigating agencies do not work for victim but for accused. Police reforms are very important.

Let us ask to our politicians to whom we vote. Today we are agitating, do we show this much of energy and thinking when we go for vote? Answer is 'No'. Almost every party has MPs or MLAs who are pending with rape charges. Do we ask why these parties give tickets to such candidates? Agitation should not be on a particular time or issue, but it should be in broad way. When we will start questioning to these parties, they will automatically stop doing this. They think us like fool, which is exemplified by the statement of Sushil Shinde who said "Janta sab bhool jati hai". This is politicians' thinking about us. Why do they raise issues like caste, reservations, religion etc. because they think this is emotional issue by which they can harvest crop of votes. But, when we will start reacting on these kinds of of issues, they will start talking on relevant  issues which will help us.

Let us pray for the victim admitted in Safdarjang Hospital for her speedy recovery and justice.
