Political drama on illegal immigrants in India

This is unfortunate that a very serious issue, which is related to national security, has become a matter of vote-bank politics among our politicians. There should be a national consensus on such a serious issue. But it is sad to see that the political parties and its leaders who were in support of the identification of illegal immigrants in India are now taking a reverse stand.

Mamta Banerjee, Chief Minister of West Bengal, who is very vocal on this issue and taking a very hard-line. She has said a few days ago that there will be a civil war in the country if illegal immigrants will not be included in NRC. She was once completely against these illegal immigrants and misbehaved to Lok Sabha Speaker in 2005 when UPA government was taking action against them. It's because those immigrants were considered a voter of the Communist Party of India (CPI), but now the situation has changed those are now voter of TMC and their presence suits Mamta Banerjee.

I am a strong believer that there should be an injustice to anyone. Those who are dropped from NRC for any reason, they should be a given a chance to validate their legal position. On the other hand, it's also possible that some names would have been included which should not be in NRC. Both angles should be investigated and re-verified. National security should be the utmost priority for everyone and every party. It should not be seen with Hindu and Muslim scanners.
